SUCCESSFUL MINUTEMAN TRAINING &
OPERATIONAL PATROLS TOMBSTONE, ARIZONA (July 30, 2005) – The Minuteman Civil defense Corps conducted a successful overnight training operation. Two groups of illegal aliens were spotted and reported to the US Border Patrol. A dozen illegal aliens were arrested working in unison with 12 agents from the US Border Patrol which also dedicated a helicopter and an airplane the operation. Well organized and running smoothly the operation sponsored by Chris Simcox and veteran Minuteman Corps volunteers using the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) http://www.minutemanhq.com/hq/sop.php developed to protect volunteers has been working with the US Border Patrol to stop illegal aliens crossing the border. Demonstrators were no where to be seen. The observation mission taking place in the Avery Valley near Tucson, Arizona has 55 Minutemen participating with New Recruits being trained while veteran Minuteman Corps volunteers held vigil watching for illegal activity near the U.S. Mexico border and on private ranchlands in the area. The Minuteman Civil Defense was joined by the Yuma Patriots and welcomed the groups support and participation. The operations will continue throughout the weekend. Given the extreme heat conditions this weekend, volunteers will carry extra water and first aid kits to aid illegal aliens who may be in distress. All volunteers will contact border patrol and call for emergency medical personnel if they encounter any human being suffering from the effects of dehydration or other illness. Tombstone, AZ – The Arizona chapter of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps, founded and led by Chris Simcox, aided Border Patrol in the capture and arrest of 21 would-be illegal aliens along the U.S.-Mexico Border this weekend. Simcox explained the success of the weekend, “It was a textbook weekend. In addition to the 21 arrests we were able to rescue one person giving them much-needed food and water until Border Patrol agents arrived to take over.” Volunteer to Secure our Border Now! He detailed that it is rarely reported that hundreds, if not thousands, die every year in the desert trying to make their way onto American soil. “It’s not a problem of too much security on the border that’s causing folks to die; it’s a problem of too little security. If our borders were secure, people wouldn’t be attempting to cross hundreds of miles of desert without food or water.” Simcox explained that his Minutemen also found a young woman who had apparently died of dehydration and had been left for dead by her companions nearly a month ago. “It was really sad in two respects. First, the government has setup aid stations inside the border, which give false hope to illegal immigrants. They cross over thinking they’ll reach a station and end up dying of starvation or dehydration. Second, it’s an unfortunate symbol of how far illegal immigrants will go to get in. If someone is slowing them down, they’re left to die.” Clips from this weekend’s operation will serve as a training video for new trainees, as 25 new recruits were initiated into the MMCDC. Simcox reported that Border Patrol agents worked alongside Minutemen complementing each other perfectly. Daily patrols continue with new reports coming in every day as to the increase in arrests and detention of illegal immigrants. Volunteer to Secure our Border Now! 8/11/05 ALERT:Minuteman Project co-founder Jim Gilchrist is considering running for Congress! President Bush has just appointed Congressman Chris Cox (R-California) to the Securities and Exchange Commission. This leaves an important vacancy in Congress for California’s 48 th Congressional District! Gov. Schwarzenegger is required to set a special election date within two weeks of the appointment.
