 OPTION ONE MORTGAGE COMPANY
OUTSOURCING TO INDIA!!

For those of you with mortgages - if you are currently using these scumbags - I have just found out - they DO NOT EMPLOY AMERICANS!!  I refinanced with them in Dec. 2003 - I am supposed to receive a statement every month - so far I am missing 3 statements - I have had to call multiple times - of course never have I received the missing statements. ALWAYS I have spoken to people that did not speak English and have had to make them repeat what they said multiple times.  Yesterday was the last straw - I demanded to know who I was speaking to and exactly WHERE she was physically sitting.  The rest you can read in my letter that is going to the S.O.B.'s this morning with my mortgage payments. Below is my letter - please send this out to all your contacts - let everyone know about this company. I am going to my bank this morning and find out about refinancing with them - while this is a total pain in the A_S to me - I want my information in THIS country - period end of subject. If anyone doubts the truth of this - please feel free to contact me - I will be VERY happy to substantiate All of this.

Option One Mortgage
P.O. Box 44042
Jacksonville, Florida 32231-4042

Dear Sir or Madam:

My Loan Number is XXXXXXXXXXXXX.  I started my loan with your company in December of 2003.  I called in April for a monthly statement because I did not receive one. In June of 2004 I did not receive a statement. I called for a statement AGAIN - and did not receive one. I called on July 9th for a statement - and as of today I have STILL not received one. I called again TODAY.  And I know I am wasting my time because I am NOT going to receive a statement.
My account WAS 2 months ahead  BUT because of this NOW my mortgage is probably just barely going to get there in time for when my next payment is due.
Every single time (4) I have called I have spoken to people who DO NOT SPEAK ENGLISH. Today I got so fed up I asked for the woman’s name - claiming her name as April O’Neil  I told her my name was Jack Robinson if her name was April O’Neil. I then demanded to know EXACTLY where she was PHYSICALLY sitting at this moment in time - she informed me she was in INDIA.  My mortgage and all my personal information is in INDIA??????
What kind of slip-shod outfit are you running?  Never mind I don’t even want to know. But rest assured I am going to seek a different company to handle my mortgage and I am going to post all over the Internet your company practices, and trust me, I have MANY, MANY connections thru the Internet. I am going to make sure everyone I can find KNOWS you are sending their personal information to a foreign country.

Sincerely,

Follow Up:  I have since gotten out of Option One Mortgage - but not without having to pay heavily. Seems there were 'suddenly' extra charges showing on my mortgage for early payoff. Of course NONE of these charges show on the FEW pieces of paperwork I received from these people up front. Even though at the time of getting involved with them I asked for copies of everything I signed - to this day (Mar. 2005) I STILL have never received any of the original paperwork for my loan with them!!  Just so everyone knows - if Option One is on your list of people to deal with for your mortgage - DON'T DO IT!!

Since this posting - I have received emails from others who have been swindled by these bastards. Please see for yourself...............

Dear Maverick Lady,

I refinanced my home with those idiots in the beginning of 2000. Later when I was paying my mortgage, they got increasingly nasty anytime that one of my payments were a few days late. When I lost my job and was struggling to make the payments, they assigned my account to an a--hole named Nona Spencer. She gave new meaning to the word C-NT. Men who use that word have no idea what it means unless they had to deal with this bitch. She was so nasty that I stopped talking to her and asked for her boss. Her boss said that she was sorry that I felt patronized and talked down to, but she continued to let her call me several times a week. When I stopped contact by phone, she hired a skip-tracer to come and check on me. I finally told them to screw themselves and gave the house back. I moved in June 2001. I wish you the best of luck with those people!

Take Care, James

Good day,

Option One is currently our mortgage co.. Like you I made sure that I was a couple months ahead with our mortgage payments. My husband is serving over in Iraq, he is in the National Guard, and money is very tight. Just yesterday as a matter of fact I received our new statement and the bastards raised my interest rate from 6% to 7.859% without any notice! I also in addition to being ahead in mortgage payments would also send in $100.00 to $200.00 extra towards principal balance. Oh yeah, no exaggeration. I also noticed that they applied my last additional principal payment to "misc." and didn't get subtracted from the principal. So what did they do with the extra $170.00 I sent in? I haven't a clue what misc. is because when I call their cust. service, I can not understand what they are saying and like you I'm sick of asking them to repeat themselves and still have no idea! So basically this letter is to tell you that there are more of us that have been taken by this company. And I am so glad that I found your letter. I hadn't known that my finances were being handled in India! I hope you have been able to shake these crooks off your back. I certainly am looking for another mortgage company and will indeed research that company better before I sign on the dotted line.

Thanks,

Pissed off American!

Option One outsourcing to India info on internet

I just read what you posted about Option One Mortgage, and I am physically sick to my stomach.  I have been fighting with Option One for some time now - they agreed to do a loan modification agreement for us when my husband was injured at work and did not receive pay for 4 months.  They never called me - I called them over, and over and over and over again, and spoke to a different person every time - almost every one from India.  I have never been so frustrated or upset.  Now I found out that 5 days after the one gentleman told me I had three weeks to come up with the deposit of $4,500.00 (on a $5,000. debt- and which would increase our monthly payments by $150.00 per month and raise our interest rate from 10 percent to 12 percent for the life of the loan), that they sent it to foreclosure without giving us the time they promised.  And now they won't accept the full payment of the debt-they want $15,000. to cover attorneys fees .  Thank you for posting your letter- it at least made me feel not so alone in the world, even if there is nothing that we can do about such a pathetic and unethical company.

 Dear Maverick Lady,

I just read the "horror" story's posted on your web site about Option One and their unethical practices. A friend of mine went through similar problems until she was able to refinance with another mortgage lender. We thought that maybe the Federal Banking Commission or whatever Federal Dept they are under, should be brought into this company's books for audit. Yes we tell everyone we know to research what ever financial institution they are considering. We have found that not all mortgage brokers are honest and will get a "kick back" with some lenders, lots of mistakes with title companies and on and on.....we have to watch everything anymore. What a pathetic shame. My best to all of you for the wonderful website and insight that you have.

Hi, I had a quick question if you don't mind... I have had OOMC for a year.  I lost my job for three months and am now back to work.  They have just agreed Friday to entertain a loan mod plan and it is looking good.  But as I read a few of your entries I have increasingly become nervous now.  Do you think they could say yes everything will be ok and than foreclose on me without warning.  Please help.  My name is Lou. Thanks M-Lady

My Response:

Hello Lou,

You should be very nervous. Not knowing your particular situation - but KNOWING Option One - I would recommend contacting OTHER means of getting a loan or refinancing. Foreclose on you? In a heartbeat - and they would most certainly NOT let you know until it was too late for you to stop them. They are the worst of the worst. If I were you I would check the bank you do business with - if you are hooked up with a big bank you might consider looking around for a smaller local bank - talk to them about your particular situation - if they can offer you a good deal but your account must be with them you just might be better off all the way around. But I DO NOT recommend Option One - not even for asking the time of day.

Hi, I too am having trouble with Option One or as the other mortgage companies call them "Option No Fun" .I went to refinance with them and am now in foreclosure (long story). I was wondering if you had any names, e-mail or regular addresses for any or all of the "officers" of their company. I wrote a not so nice letter and sent it to the so called Assistance Team, but don't really think they did anything but throw it away. Unfortunately I have to meet with my attorney this week and see what can be done. Needless to say dealing with the call center in India was no fun-I couldn't understand much of their English and told them when someone from this country can finally call me i will talk to them.
I did find another site about them if you are interested, its consumeraffairs.com.
Thanks for your time !!

I checked into this site - for further problems with Option One - you can read for yourself the horror stories located here: http://www.consumeraffairs.com/finance/option_one.html.

While these emails are disturbing - I am aware of what these people have experienced. But there is something that can be done - there is plenty that can be done - talk - talk - talk - tell everyone what you were subjected to - tell friends - tell your email lists - if you have a website  POST the information - link to this page if you want - they can be stopped - but they can only be stopped if the information is passed on - and passed on again and again and again - spread it as far as you can - but NEVER - NEVER - stop telling people what you have been subjected to. NEVER stop letting people know about it.
