The United Nations Wants YOU

by Brad Edmonds

If you think the
Universal Declaration of Human Rights is dangerous folderol, you haven’t seen anything yet. Believe it or not, there are those in our own government who believe that declaration is a wonderful achievement. There are some who believe the earth is flat, too. This document, among other things, "guarantees" state-sponsored social security; freedom from want; a state-guaranteed living wage; the free development of one’s personality; and leisure. Oh, and the same document says there are no guarantees or freedoms (such as free speech, or the right to life) if they operate contrary to UN purposes or principles (Article 29).

Other examples of what the UN has been up to are even more stunning. For example, the whackpaper (U.N. site)  Agenda 21 (PDF FILE) (with the blessing of then-president William Felon Clinton in his mindless rush to please American environmentalist voters) says your property really belongs to the United Nations, and if they decide your property would be better sacrificed to the spotted sucker mole, you lose. Agenda 21 is nothing more than flowery utopian socialism supported by lies about how the environment and the world population are actually faring.

You’ve probably already heard that the UN is dead set against you having guns to defend yourself from attacks by your government or by the violent criminals to whom Democrats want to give equal suffrage; dead set against small island nations or any other nations having "unfairly" low taxes; and dead set against national sovereignty, or the quaint notion that the UN isn’t supreme.

Worse, various of their documents now say the United Nations can decide how you will be treated with regard to everything, including how you interact with your own children, and with the help of Agenda 21, even whether you will be allowed to have children. And no, I am not mistaken about United Nations intent regarding you being allowed to have children; listen to this:

"Population policy should also recognize the role played by human beings in environmental and development concerns." As you read on, you find that at the very least, this means government telling you where to live; at worst, brutal population control, as we see now in Asia.

Once you’ve had children, the United Nations considers it their domain, and that of your government, to tell you how to rear your children, per the "Convention on the Rights of the Child." Article 14: "States Parties shall respect the right of the child to freedom of thought, conscience and religion." A child is defined as anyone under age 18, or whatever age your State Party says constitutes seniority. Article 15: "States Parties recognize the rights of the child to freedom of association and to freedom of peaceful assembly." All of this means your nine-year-old can cavort with scum and worship Satan if he wants. It’s none of your business because the UN guarantees all these rights to the child.

What rights do you, the parent, have? You can teach your child about your religion (Article 14 – item 2 makes parental rights the context, this is item 3): "Freedom to manifest one's religion or beliefs may be subject only to such limitations as are prescribed by law and are necessary to protect public safety, order, health or morals, or the fundamental rights and freedoms of others." Who determines what limitations are necessary? "States Parties," or the UN. What else can you teach your children? This is addressed by Article 17: "States Parties recognize the important function performed by the mass media and shall ensure that the child has access to information and material from a diversity of national and international sources, especially those aimed at the promotion of his or her social, spiritual and moral well-being and physical and mental health." The UN, or States Parties, determine what promotes all those things. Once the subject matter is determined, States Parties then shall "Encourage the mass media to disseminate information and material of social and cultural benefit to the child and in accordance with the spirit of article 29." The signals being fed to your kid are none of your business.

It seems never to end. This document goes on for a total of 50 Articles, guaranteeing to children such things as "assistance" from the government for parents who need help in the performance of their child-rearing responsibilities; social security (a "right"); rest and leisure; liberty (try grounding your teenager); and more. Strangely, the UN thinks it’s okay to send children as young as 15 to war (Article 38), though the language recognizes it’s not always "feasible" to keep even younger ones from taking a "direct part in hostilities."

For those rare readers who had any doubt, now you know:
The United Nations is dangerous to you.
Why are they still here? Because our national government doesn’t have the nerve to stand up to them, though their ambitions are a direct assault on everything in our founding documents.
